In an extraordinary art performance, British artist Mark McGowan is to climb along the streets of Reus in Spain on his belly, dressed as a rock climber, with a sign on his back saying LOVE REUS, non-stop for 48 hours.
The performance will start at 11.00 on March 11th 2010 at Placa de Prim.
Posters will be put in all the local shops declaring that 11th March is LOVE REUS day.
McGowan says, "this project is try and get the people of Reus to come together to celebrate Reus, i want to leave a legacy so that every year on the 11th of March, people will join in and celebrate their LOVE of REUS. I want to put Reus on the world map. I think it will be hard climbing along the street for 48 hours and maybe it will look rediculous but i am determined to show people how much it means to the community to have a commom spirit".
This project is part of an exhibition called La vida en comu which is being held at Art Center Cal Masso the exhibition opens on March 11th.
